We build a nest in heaven
And from these times we are given
here
As we spin around on this planet
earth
We gather up encounters
With memories that lead us to our
rebirth
What has been and is done
And what has passed away
With all the visions and those
desires
That fed the fuel our life and
the souls fire
That
burns and glows so brilliantly
As we watch at the end of the day.
And we gather close the memories
That soon will slip away
We have that little shoe box of
pictures and souvenirs
Of things once important to us while
we were here
Perhaps we were gathering
feathers and twigs
To help us build our nest in
heaven
So when we returned to mysterious
gates
We had a foundation of love in our new home.
And these pictures in our mind’s
eye
Are now just distant memories
People who held us and helped us
on
And gave us our important keys
And all the
good that has come
Is a precious gift that we can now
pass on
And so the circle of life turns
And the wheel of karmas fortune
spins
round and round and round
Then we
gather up our stuff
And what is left to pack away
And with our thoughts of gratitude
can tie up any lose ends and our baggage
before the end of the day
and we give a deep, deep bow to
life
and the loved ones that helped us
here
to love and laugh and live
in this temporary form before it
disappears
and we smile as we let it go
as it fades into the setting sun
and we journey on to our new home
and the nest in heaven where we
came from
