a sea of emotions flood our life

with a tsunami that rises

and washes away the pain of feelings

with a tightrope that we balance on 

to cross over to a higher way

we cover up our naked heart

in so many different ways

but we can’t deny the things inside

we can only turn to God and pray

and in time it all is accepted 

and eventually we can digest it

these human elements of our feelings

drive us to reach for some peace in being 

and then these moments of divine grace

 gives us hope for the human race

and at times the goodness we find

out weighs the pain of being alive
