Birds fly through air, Fish swim through sea, Where, oh where is our spirit, Lord If we can’t be free. Throw off the chains that bind me, To see the world in such despair, Let me breathe the Spirit that lifts me to heaven, With a vision that is so clear. Perhaps I can be blessed to share it with those who are suffering here. Long has my spirit soared like those birds And I laughed as I watch the dolphins swim. Yet as I walk upon this earth, I can’t help to see the problems we’re in. I know Prayers can sing to heaven, I know there’s light waiting if we open the door. Let us find the Path Lord, And the purpose we came here for. Without your Love I feel so empty, And there’s a deep longing and depair, I’m a fish without an ocean, And a Bird without the air. So I ask for a lifeline to your heaven That was promised to be there. So I can find your Garden And a little Paradise that’s waiting here. To free ourselves from the illusions of the mind And the problems of humankind. Birds fly through air, fish swim through sea, Bring me the Breath of your Spirit, Lord, To set my heart and soul free.
