Lord, bring your Angels Close
So I can hear them sing
Let me listen closely,
so close it
reverberates in my soul
For there is a joy I have been longing for
That I believe is waiting there to know
And I have worked so hard to hide
The parts that have been broken
For in time I hoped they would grow
Into a work of crooked beauty
But perhaps only God could appreciate
The truth left there in the afterglow
For all these human lessons
Sure do take a toll
And I came here to learn
What it is to be human
While always longing for spirit’s home
So let the bliss that I once knew
Come once again and pour forth over me
So I the breath of hope renews
the sweet nectar that nourishes belief
And let it feed this hungry heart
That has been starving for the mercy that heals
For the path has been so long Lord
And there is still so much work to do
And I can feel your presence near
For I know you have always been there
If I can find the time to remember
You promised to be standing by to ease my fears
So bring your angels close to me
And let me hear them sing
And let me once again renew my vows
To serve you and share your blessings
And I will take a moment
To bow my head and Pray
And to say thank you for this life you gave
For I know every day should be thanksgiving day
