LORD, help me not to run from
your love
For your love is my saving
grace
And when I have strength to
stop and be still
I find your loving presence
so save
Lord, bring the breath of
peace to me
For it always can help me
face
All the challenges and all of
the things
Life presents that’s part of
this human race
For when I stop and am still
All that I am is here with me
And this Christ presence is
there to redeem
And if I ask it will set me
free
what I might not wish to see
or be seen
can not be covered or masked
by pride
for in time all that hidden
is revealed
and the truth of truth can
not be denied
Lord , let me receive your
loving presence
Right here and right now in
my heart
With spirit and the passion
of compassion
So I can learn to forgive and
do my part
May I forgive myself for all
the times I judged others
And spoke any unkind words
No matter how much I think
it’s true
For in protecting my self, I
just feed the ego in me
Lord, may I stop running from
the truth of who I am
even if I don’t fit in, I
know there’s the acceptance
That can save me and redeem
me again
And bring me the strength and
the grace
to just be happy to be me
and I can’t run and I can’t
hide from me
or from this love that you
give me unconditionally
that is right here where my soul
abides inside
And when the ego wants to
defend and fight to control
Let me turn the other cheek
And see your love is the
choice
That I can embrace and know
For Lord your heart is my
home
Your peace holds the comfort that
I need
To stop all the running from
the truth
So I can just allow myself to
love you
and so
learn to love me
