when the heart feels heavy

but the mind knows you will survive 

there comes a negotiation

and a conversation deep inside

and it’s funny how we make a deal

to carry on and smile

when the mantle of our being

wants to run and hide

but spirit works in mysterious ways

and graces us with strength 

and somehow we find 

the inner power to face

this life come what may 

and in this moment it’s ok

and we can play the game

with all life’s ups and downs 

it’s interesting how it all comes down 

to the choice to hang around

and let God’s will be found

and have faith in the path we travel on
