An April Fool

 To be God’s Fool

Oh to be God’s Fool
For there must be a need for a jester for the Lord
To make him laugh and make things a little lighter
For with so many problems here he could become so bored

Oh to be God’s Fool and without fear
Stand naked in the morning Sun
And reach the light that creates this precious day
And this world we know there is a need to laugh and play

And if we were sculpted in Creations Image
And that sculpting created was meant to be free
Wouldn’t the artist of all creation
Which us to be free to enjoy this life and be oh so happy

Who can know the unknown secrets
Who can be given the Master Key
Who but a fool would dare to ask
for Heaven to come to Earth and  Just let it be

Oh to be an April Fool
And say Yes to living without fear
And stand in the morning rain
Waiting for the spring flowers to blossom here

And who but a fool would abandon
All the conventions demanded in this life
And not be a one who just works for the money
and instead  find a higher purpose and do what is right

And on this ancient holiday
we might just wonder all the pranks that the Court Jesters did
and the Kings and Queens who laughed at the silliness
of the life that this human race lives instead

so let out that inner child today
and let some laughter bring
a little light into your day and be an April Fool
and allow yourself  some time to laugh and play
