the calling

The song without words

There’s a bird that’s been coming to my window
Just before the break of Dawn.
At some moment in my meditation he sings to my heart
And my heart just listens to his song.

There are no words that are spoken
And there are just a few notes that he repeats
And yet this song has such a power
AI know there is a message there for me.

And there is no mistaking the calling
And day after day he is there to greet me
And I wonder if he knows he is free
To come and go wherever he needs.

Or is there something in my soul
That draws this messenger of the dawn?
Is there some similar frequency
That he knows that we are both on.

And there are rounds he makes each day
For after he comes to me
I her his song in the distance
Singing to others who might be listening along.

So I’m left to just interpret
And I don’t have an app that can interpret that yet.
For there are no words that can be found
To catch and say ah, yes it’s that, I get it.

But somehow I’m lifted up by this his call,
And I now look forward to his visit with me
I know that he’s free to come and go
And yet there’s a connection when we meet.

There is a song that has no words
There is some soulfulness that speaks
And there’s some truth that’s universal
and it’s alive in the sound’s intensity.

So when we tune in to the heart’s song
And when the soul sings to me and to you.
We understand without translating any language
this unspoken calling that connects us and what is true.
