Listen for the Word of God
God grant me the gift to hear your voice
As it speaks to my very soul
And let me have the power to listen
As it resonates through me to know
Let me hear it in the sounds of the early morning rain
May the sound of the Church bell toll out
the promise of
the call it brings.
May I be an instrument
so that your
Word may ring true.
Let me be the offering at the alter of life
that opens door to the love of you.
And God let me hear the prayers you speak
To the Master who serves your purpose here.
So that I may better serve the Master
And help others who know not the gifts you bear.
And if you tell me of my mission
Let me have the strength not to hide from you
In the darkness where I hold in my fears.
For I believe
the promise you gave
To help to get us all through
But I still need to listen
to those words
that comfort me too.
So lord I ask that you speak to me,
And that I might clearly hear,
And that I do not doubt your messages
And think that the burdens given are too much to bear.
For there are holy symphonies that lift me to your heart
And you inspire my journey with breath of love
To lighten the way through the hardest part.
Oh Lord I thank you for Your Words and I ask, if I may
To Be a servant of the One
and to share
the teachings given by you
so that they may touch the souls of others on the way.
